While my calling to this work is to aid horses, I also find many horse owners with the desire to learn and do more for their own horses, so I've developed an introductory class to give them tools they can use.  My goal in teaching is to aid horse owners in learning simple techniques they can use every day to increase the comfort of their horse.  To learn what normal for their horse feels, and looks like, all while building the bond between horse and rider like no other.

Schedule for 2012 Spring

I teach a 1 day hands-on workshop, for all levels of horse lovers, novice to expert!  This is an introductory class that is an overview of the techniques I use.  This allows you to sample each method and find the one that interests you & fits your horses needs best.

Detailed instructions and written guidelines are great take homes from class, so when you head out to your barn, you have a reference in hand!

    • Balance for the Horse - Introductory Class

Taught are a variety of elements for working on your horse. Topics include Communication, Reading the Horses Body, Acupressure Points & Basic Meridains, Massage, and Bodywork.  This class is designed to help participants see each element and choose individual classes according to their skill set and desire of interaction with their horse. All levels from novice to expert can gain from this class.  This class is priced to reach all levels of horse owners.

Class size: 8-10  Tuition: $75.00  Hand-on with horses - 8 hours  Lecture only:  Class size: 8-20  Tuition: $50.00  Lecture without horses for larger class size and in 6 hours of instruction.  Lecture discount rate applies to hands-on workshop attendees who have RESCUE horse ownership or volunteer with a Horse Rescue.  Documentation is required.

These techniques are not designed to replace Veterinary care. But it does allow you to become a better partner with your horse and your vet, as you learn what "normal" for your horses body feels like, and you will be alerted to changes before they become problems.  Often allowing you to share valuable observations with your vet, to determine the best course of treatment, for the optimal outcome!

"Balance for the Horse"  Introductory Class

Picture
Held at J&K Stables, Juneau, WI  -- Dec. 10, 2011
An overview of Communication, Massage, Bodywork, Acupressure points, and Focused Physical Training exercises for your equine partner.

Introduction:  How you communicate with the horse will set the tone for your session.  The calmer you are, the calmer the horse will be, and the deeper the release.

Put away all your other roles with horses, you’re not going to train, ride, or groom…this is going to be a totally new interaction, for you and the horse.

What I liked best about the training....
" That the class size was small so we were able to do a lot of hands on."  Erin W.  Ripon, WI

"She (Tami) was a very good at communicating with both people & horses.  It's a whole new way of "seeing" your horse!"  Claudia S.  Portage, WI

"This class with Tami, enables horse lovers to truly become partners with their horses, not just a horse owner."  Sue S. Oxford, WI

1-Day Masterson Method™ Training

Picture
Howell, MI  April 30, 2011

A wonderful time in Michigan teaching enthusiastic horse owners how to relate to their horses and release muscle tension in the horse, using Masterson Method™ techniques, my initial training in equine bodywork.

Bodywork allows the horse to participate in the process of releasing tension in key junctures of their body.  Through assistance and a gentle touch by the owner, release can be achieved, and a new bond created.
